What BentOdds collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Effective August 24, 2026.
This policy explains what BentOdds collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
BentOdds is a trade name. The company responsible for the data described here — the data controller — is CodeGin LLC, and it is who you are dealing with when you exercise any of the rights below.
The short version
Today this website collects nothing about you directly. There is no signup form, no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no cookies set by us.
When the newsletter launches, the only thing we will ask for is an email address and the teams and leagues you want covered. That is the whole product — we cannot send you a personalized newsletter without knowing who to send it to and what you care about.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
What we collect
Now, on this website
Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type into.
Two things still happen automatically whenever anyone visits any website, and it would be misleading not to say so:
- Server and CDN logs. Our host (Amazon Web Services) records standard request data — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser user-agent. This is how every web server on the internet works. We use it only to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.
- Google Fonts. Typefaces on this site are served by Google. Loading them causes your browser to make a request to Google’s servers, which reveals your IP address to Google under their privacy policy. We do not receive anything from that request.
Later, when you subscribe
If and when you sign up for the newsletter, we expect to collect:
- Your email address. Required — it is where the newsletter goes.
- Your content preferences. The teams, conferences, leagues, and market types you choose to follow, so each issue can be assembled from your list.
- Delivery and engagement data. Whether an email was delivered, bounced, or was marked as spam. This is necessary to keep sending mail at all: mailbox providers penalize senders who keep mailing dead or hostile addresses.
- Payment information, for paid subscriptions only. Processed by a third-party payment provider. We never see or store your card number. We retain only the subscription status and billing records needed to run the account.
This policy will be updated with specifics before any of that goes live.
Why we collect it
- To send you the newsletter you asked for, containing the things you asked for.
- To operate and secure the site.
- To process payment for a paid subscription, if you buy one.
- To comply with legal obligations.
That is the complete list. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not enrich your address with data purchased from anyone else.
Who we share it with
Only service providers who need it to make the product work, and only for that purpose:
| Purpose | Provider |
|---|---|
| Website hosting and delivery | Amazon Web Services |
| Email delivery | Amazon Web Services (SES), once the newsletter launches |
| Payment processing | A third-party payment processor, for paid plans only |
We may also disclose information if legally compelled, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety. If BentOdds is ever sold or merged, subscriber data may transfer as part of that transaction — you would be told before anything changed.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies
This site sets none. If that changes — for example if we add privacy-respecting analytics — this section will say so plainly before it happens.
How long we keep things
Server logs are retained for a short operational window and then discarded. Subscriber records are kept while you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterwards to honor unsubscribe requests and meet tax and accounting obligations. Ask us to delete your data and we will, except where we are legally required to keep it.
Your choices
Unsubscribe at any time. Every newsletter will carry a one-click unsubscribe link. It is honored immediately, no questions and no retention offers.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. We extend these rights to everyone who asks, regardless of jurisdiction, because maintaining two tiers of privacy would be worse than simply honoring the request.
There is nothing to request yet — this site holds no personal data about you. A contact address for data requests will be published here before the newsletter begins collecting anything, and requests to CodeGin LLC will be answered within 30 days. We will never charge you for a request or make you create an account to file one.
Children
BentOdds concerns sports betting markets and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and — if you are a subscriber — tell you by email before the change takes effect.
Contact
The data controller is CodeGin LLC.
A contact address for questions about this policy and for data requests will be published here before signup opens. Until then this site collects no personal data, so there is nothing held about you to ask after.
